Carbon sinks are a deposit of carbon. Some examples may include trees, coal, and soil. Trees, coal, and soil all have carbon in them. the tree gets it from the air through photosynthesis, the coal gets carbon from animals and plants that died millions of years ago, and the soil has carbon from dead leaves and other organic material.
Carbon sources are things that carbon come from such as a car burning gasoline(petrolium), people breathing, and burning down trees. in these examples, the resulting carbon is Carbon Dioxide(CO2) which is a mix of carbon and oxygen atoms.
Release agents are things that cause carbon to be released like a volcanic eruption or people running a mile. The volcanic eruption releases CO2 and ash. When people run a mile, they breathe more quickly as their heartbeat goes up.

If you do not know what a food chain is, watch this video!
The savanna grass is the main source of food to many of the animals in the savanna. It supplies the consumers that supply the secondary consumers, that supply the scavengers and the decomposers.
The waterbuck usually eats grass, but occasionally eats leaves from bushes and trees. waterbucks are prey for hyenas, lions, leopards, crocodiles, hunting dogs, and also cheetahs. There are two types of waterbuck in Africa. The picture shows a male common waterbuck, known for a white circle around its hindquarters. The other type of waterbuck is called the defassa waterbuck, which has wide, white spots instead of a circle. Only male waterbucks have horns.
This is a secondary consumer that is a very good hunter. It hunts in large packs of 20-50 animals in a pack. They only weigh about 25-50 pounds, but make up for it in brains and numbers. As a secondary consumer the African Wild Dog is a carnivore and eats the primary consumer.

A hyena is a scavenger that is very capable of hunting, but prefers to steal from other animals. This scavenger waits for a animal to catch the prey for it, then steals it from the helpless animal.
